Dichotomy (#NoFilter Scholarship Slam)

Well: who am I, put honestly?

Without facade, I seem to be

A borderline dichotomy

Between two frames of mind.

At first, I show my artistry:

An optimist's philosophy

Where I eschew gentility -

The passion of mankind.

But more and more, just recently,

There lurks my grim proclivity

To rage at all obscenity

And all that's unrefined.

I vent these thoughts through poetry.

To pose a question beautifully

Is all my brain does suitably -

To chase the undefined.
