Desperation
It’s a disease really.
The effect is universal-
knawing at the heart.
It’s a thirst so fierce.
The one that wants
and the one that longs.
You tell yourself about love,
but that is not real.
Claims of want capture,
and it says that it cares.
You are the opposite of it.
I hold on, you let go.
Gasping from the waves,
I resurface- tired.
