In Dependence

South Africa

I’d let my beauty melt away

If only I could convey

That no matter what I do

I still need you.

You must think me a fool,

For those lips can be wicked and cruel.

And when I finally reach out,

You only give me doubt.

After being alone,

I feel I can finally stand on my own.

I won’t lie, for it’s true

That I sometimes still need you.
