I depend on this pen and paper like a crutch,
Hoping to clear my mind cause my thoughts have become too much
Only wanting to smile and be proud, but happiness is something I can't seem to touch
Moving back, while time races forward
Going in circles, reliving events that have already been recorded
Trying to move on but it feels like my steps have already been ordered
So I depend on this pen and paper cause they let me freely vent
They don't talk back and I never have to explain what I meant
If they were women they would be truly Heaven sent
But that isn't reality cause not too many women are real
I'm talking bout love you can just feel
In your mind, your heart, and spirit, that shit that's a big deal
So I depend on this pen and paper to fill that empty void
To calm my nerves whenever I'm angry or annoyed
They are like my crack rock, my heroin, my steroid
Giving me that something I need when I'm in need
Never having to ask twice or get on my knees
Like I said they are that something I need when I'm in need
I depend on this pen and paper cause time after time they have helped me
Never objecting, just letting me speak freely
They are grateful for my words and they respect my honesty
No one or anything could ever break this bond
Were like frogs and lily pads in a pond
Something like wizards with their wands
Like I said nothing could ever break this bond
