A Deity's Silence

I’ve been crying out for aid,

But I’m rewarded with silence,

I’m screaming out for help,

Only for my pleas to fall

On the ears of a deaf deity.

I’ve been forgotten by my God,

And I don’t even blame him.

Cry

Plead

Scream

Yell

But the silence stays strong,

Its maw opening to swallow me whole.

I trip and fall,

Enslaved to the agonizing pain

That follows me,

Breaks me,

Cuts me open

So that I’m forgotten.

If He loves me,

Like they say,

Where is He?

I’m screaming out for help,

Only for my pleas to fall

On the ears of a deaf deity.

I’ve been forgotten by my God,

And I don’t even blame Him.

If I were Him,

I’d forget me too.
