our senses are faulty don't expect them

to give you the full truth

 

two boys/girls/genderqueers

are holding hands and their fingers

are zipped together to protect their anger

from falling out for all to see

"disgusting/unnatural/burn in hell"

maybe, if you're lucky, you'll see them there

 

once you slap a Label onto someone

they become another object to your collection

of cutting words and bigoted standards

and, like anything,

once you put on a Label

it becomes so much harder

to rip off.
