Dear Teacher

Dear Teacher,

All of your students are not the same.

We dont learn at the same level or the same pace.

We all have different interest, and different futures ahead of us.

Dont treat us all as one, because then we all fail as one.

I dont know who came up with the idea of giving grades, and giving every student the same level work

What do they think we are, clones ?

Yeah I dont think so, and I know some of you teachers felt the same way when you were younger

And I bet some of you wanted to change it, thats why you are teachers today

All I know is the road we are going down now is not to higher levels

Its to more kids dropping out, failing, and thinking they arent smart enough

And since I know there wont be a change soon, its up you teachers

Work with EVERY student you have, make sure they not only get the work,

but they feel good about themselves in the end.

And make sure that they are not just memorizing your work to get by,

make sure they learn it, but on their own levels of learning and pace.

I know that will take alot more time, but isnt that the reason you signed up for this job?

To make sure that the young generation is a knowledgeable one,

To make sure that when they leave your class they have a big smile on their face,

because they know they got that grade themselves, with your help. But with THEIR MIND.

I dont know thats just my take on it, you may think other wise but you should consider

these words, I mean they are coming from a students point of view.

Sincerely,

Kenya
