Dear The Future

Dear the Future,

Can you see us?

Can you see the wounds,

Can you see the deaths,

Can you see the grief,

Can you see the fear?

Do you remember us?

Do you know how many fear the future?

Do you know how many grieve for the future?

Do you know how many died for the future?

Do you know how many had wound the future?

Each and everyday,

A child fears the next day of school,

For the fear of a threat to come to action.

Each and everyday,

A family member grieve for their lost one,

A loved one that had died so innocent.

Each and everyday,

A stranger would protect another stranger,

Knowing that once it ends they might not see the light.

Each and everyday,

Just one person is wounded,

Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

So dear the Future,

Please be bright, brave, and true.

Please be happy, hopeful, and lovely.

Please be strong, sturdy, and faithful.

Please be knowing, kind, and free.
