The Day The Sun Comes Along

Location

A sprouting flower still frail and green

Before it bloomed they doubt what they see

Quantified judgments have been made before

The blind judges locking up the doors

Though slow to start, he'll never stop

Reaching the goal, though they still think not

Though failure is all they see on the page

Like a good wine he improves with age

“Education is not the learning of facts

But the raining of the mind to think” in fact

Though humbly he says he's not quite Einstein

There's gifts beyond what they initially find

This sprouting flower, against the rain

Bloomed despite the torrents that came

Waiting with soul so viciously strong

For the day the sun comes along
