Daddy’s Girl

“Where are you going dad?”
Somewhere you can’t go
It’s a boys show.
“But I don’t care I want to come.”
No I’m sorry sweety you can’t
It’s going to be nothing but guys
Guys who spit, cuss, and drink
Why don’t you really think
You don’t want to go with me.

So I hung my head in defeat
And watched him drive off to the lease
Never telling him that all I wanted
Was a little of his time
To prove to him that I
Could be as tough as one of the guys
He knew this of course
So the next time he left
He left without a word
And instead left me to be bored

So now the whole world knows
All I ever wanted to be
Was daddy’s little girl.
