I rarely watch the news because of the content it shows,

it's ironic because we say "stop the violence" but constantly it grows,

I understand it's hard to watch, because the president says chill,

but society decides to turn the notch,

I'm only 18, but it seems like I could write a book,

I witnessed Trayvon, Isis, and even sandy hook,

I pray people to change their ways, for more better days, but seems like the more we protest the longer it stays,

Different skin tones hate to see the other make it, but we all bleed red I wonder when are people going to face it?

The process is so slow, I guess the world will never know, but I was taught to tell God and let go,

And if someone tells you you can't, look at them and smile, because eventually you will make it but may take a while,

But don't get discouraged keep hope and faith because they make the fuel that helps you win the race,

But there will be bumps in the road but hey that's life, but sometimes it's a piece of cake just learn to cherish your slice
