The world we live in is such a disgrace!
Some flourish greatly while others die
Do not let your life be a waste!

Here in the mighty United States
The homeless suffer while we turn a blind eye
The world we live in is such a disgrace!

We laugh and sing as we partake
Of feasts and drink while others starve nearby
Do not let your life be a waste!

Living affluent lives, but with priorities misplaced
From the poor the powerful withhold their large supply
The world we live in is such a disgrace!

With resolute hearts and with a stoic face
The weak and poor know that the end is nigh
Do not let your life be a waste!

And yet, we as a people can still act in grace
To save the destitute and broken can we comply
The world we live in is such a disgrace!
Do not let your life be a waste!
