Could've, Would've, Should've, but Didn't

She witnesed the other woman's lips

effortlessly against your cheek

like they belonged there.

Your voice whispered through her chest

reminding her how trustworthy you were.

And you just stared through her

taunting her with a once upon a time harmless, stunning gaze.

She remembered the words she told you...

She could've loved you.

She would've trusted you.

She should've believed you.

And now she wishes to forget what she was terrified to tell you,

but most of all she hopes you did.
