Connections to the Human Body

Blank notebook pages,

Crisp, clean, unwritten phrases.

The slick ink flows as the pen goes.

Across the page, inscribed the future.

The pen is controlled by a hand.

That hand is connected to an arm.

That arm is connected to a chest.

That chest protects a beating heart.

That beating heart belongs to you.

The author must write what comes

From the heart,

Which is protected by the chest,

Which is connected to an arm,

Which is connected to a hand,

Which controls the pen,

That writes your story.
