Confession

Sun, 09/21/2014 - 23:13 -- rwikel

It was winter where you were

and summer where I stayed

When you'd weap to me

Tell me of the previous day

My heart broke in half

With the secrets you spilled

My knees grew weak

I turned ill

I hid my face

and weaped alone

because the stories you told

mimicked my own

I rested together your palm in mine

and told of a story we'd hear in due time

beat a dog enough and it learns to bite

as tame as it is it can still put up a fight

It's leash will be snapped

and it's master will fear

the heart of the dog

and the howl you hear
