Conduct

1st Peter 2:11-12 “Beloved I beg you as sojourners

and pilgrims abstain from fleshly lusts, which war

against the soul having your conduct honorable among

the Gentiles…”      ”that they may by your good works

observe, glorify God in the day of visitation”

How is conduct measured ... from within or from without?

Is it seen by strangers ... just faces in the crowd?

Or is it seen by everyone ... who is living close around?

The ones who see you day by day ... and hear your ev'ry sound.

The battle that rages daily ... and wars against the soul

Is it the enemy without ... or is the traitor deep within?

Lust and greed and who knows what ... corruption to the bone

is tossing up the question ... “Oh! What could have been?”
