My world is crumbling, yet I smile.
People suspect, but no one knows.
It’s just a bad day they muse.
Inside I’m broken and worn.
A rock can stand against a storm.
I am not a rock.
I am a grain of sand, a drop in the bucket.
Even in my own life I seem insignificant.
Will this pain ever stop?
Fresh wounds reopen old ones.
I’m bleeding with despair and anguish
Yet I still go about- a masquerade.
I put on a mask.
And nobody thinks twice.
