College For Free

If I could change something in our world,
I think I’d make college free.
I’d make colleges functional without huge expenses,
I’d make them accessible to anyone who wanted to learn, like me.

Because imagine how many people really want to learn,
How many jobs they’d strive for if only they could,
People who just want good lives with their dream job,
Computer programers, artists, even those aspiring to Hollywood.

Imagine how many people never could afford it,
Because they couldn’t catch a brake, despite what they’d earn.
They would have saved and saved, long hours braved,
But they didn’t make it, so they never got to learn.

All because 60k is a little much to go to school,
And it’s a lot when you’re paying annually.
And not everyone’s able to get grants as a rule,
So now I hope ya’ll see!

Yes, I’d make college free if I could,
And maybe that’s a little too American of me,
Because what American doesn’t love things for free?
Still it’s pretty to think about, despite how it’s never going to be.
