The Closet
I can't be what I am
They won't see me for what I was
Shoved into a closed box, crammed
I don't wanna be their lost cause
I need an escape, a break
from this reality
My life at stake, can't relate
'cause I'm an abnormality
Day after day, an impostor
living a lie in a poster
yet my love won't foster
the truth, lodged in its holster.
The need to cope, the hope
to relate, keeps me writing
'cause sanity's about to elope.
But I'll keep fighting
the norms of this society.
Maybe share my love
and don the gloves
To stand
for my brothers and sisters
one day, because
I won't marry a mister
