Clarity of an Eclipse

When blue meets black is at high noon
When the sun’s shadow turns white
And blisters the earth

The sky where the birds fly high, high
And where the stars glisten like tears
And the color where blue meets black becomes
Clear

The grass black, with its beads of dew
Bends and springs beneath the shoe
And the party begins playing
And it’s playing

White is blue and black
Where twilight meets dawn
And dawn meets dusk
And the moon and the sun make love

Stand and clap your hands once more
And dance around, about the shore
For in the days of calming lore
White meets blue and black once more

The sky becomes what nothing can,
Where every color is given a chance
And the moon brings forth blue
And at noon’s crescent white
And the white pale mood brightens the black
