City

Steam rises from underneath the sidewalks.

Stoplights change in a colorful cycle.

Sirens scream off in the distance.

It’s the only place where you can be surrounded by small talks,

yet still feel alone in the world.

It’s a complex coexistence,

that makes one feel spiteful.

The orange sunset turns skyscrapers into colossal bonfires.

Daytime hustle soon turns to nighttime peace.

Streetlights flicker as I walk past.

Everywhere I go feels like home,

when it's just the city and me.

This poem is about:
Me
My community
My country
Our world
