Circles

Location

Only going in circles,

talking,

getting closer,

intimate as we may.

Never touch,

meetings are rare and far in between,

feelings that fade fast but come back strong,

confusion mistaken for love,

love in mutual agreement. . .

Going in circles,

you and I,

forbidden to kiss,

no touch shared.

A secret we must keep,

for my loved ones approve not,

will you be mine?

Will I be yours?

Impossibilities of such color,

feelings trapped away,

locked behind my window panes they must stay....

Circles, we try again,

yet only end in anger and loss.

You kiss me sweetly,

darkness,

our meeting place hides us,

for those stolen moments mean everything.

Kept away from each other,

we hurt,

us both aching for that touch,

forbidden by elder styles,

skin color is now a factor,

separating me from my happiness....

I must break these circles,

for my hidden strength lies within,

these chains shall one day break....

When I choose new life over blood.
