Cinders

He came, I went

Hiding who we are

Swinging around in our façades and gowns

Scared and vengeful to the world

We stopped

Delighting in each other bliss

Thinking of others in a selfish era

Family, duty, magic

We were happy

We were superficial

Hoping to never end

Evading the truth

We cultivated something rooted on lies

Becoming not so different from the world around us

Becoming what we hated

Becoming King and Queen, power and might

We fought

Lettuce not kale

Separate not together

We cried

The tears left

So did the pain

So did he

So did I
