Childhood Innocence

Exiting my house I waved at my mother,
And it was a day not different from any other.

I as usual was walking to my bus stop,
And it was a bright sun on the blue roof's top.

It was my first day to school without my mother on the side,
And today on my foot alone I had to ride.

I was walking towards the east and was facing the direct sun burn,
And for a few moments I had to my face the other side turn.

I noticed a black object on the ground,
And a bit larger than me it I found.

Down on the ground it laid,
I was taken aback and was afraid.

I noticed that as I swayed it also moved,
And for me a frightening thing it proved.

From the other side I saw a man,
And in my mind I made a rescue plan.

As the man was in the direction of my bus stop going,
I to get rid of the object decided to do some following.

I somehow safely reached my school,
Where I felt relieved and somewhat cool.

But there was a little fright still in my mind,
To clear this I approached my teacher who was very kind.

My teacher easily vanished all my fright,
And my decision to come to her was absolutely right.

She told me that it was just a shadow formed due to the sun,
And took me in her arms for the cleverness I had done.
