A Child of an Immigrant

A child of an immigrant knows stength,

We see it every day in their eyes.

A child of an immigrant understands courage,

We wouldn't be here without it.

A child of an immigrant is proud,

We owe our lives and safety to them.

A child of an immigrant knows fear,

We see that many don't accept or understand.

A child of an immigrant protects,

We can't change how others feel.

A child of an immigrant stands,

We know this country will one day love us as much as we love it.
