Brother will you?

Tue, 08/21/2018 - 20:23 -- smaggie

Long before he left home
You were more man then he ever was
About 12 years old
You took on the heaviest role

6 of us, including mom
Little kids, taught right from wrong
From older brother
To rely on each other

Growing up without him here
Got real tough, but you made it clear
I never was without a father figure
You filled the shoes, but your steps were bigger

Now Im old youve done so much for me
How can i repay the years gave up to be
The father that we all needed so
We could survive out here on our own.

Now ive found love and weve been talking
Ive asked for so much,
but i hope youll be the one walking
Arm in arm, your the only one I'd let give me away
On my wedding day

Its the last task i ask of you
Brother can you, will you?
