Breaking Through

It's hard to pretend to be someone you're not
You don't have to choose your spot
You're not a mistake
You are a piece of art
It isn't your fault
You are not a mistake
It wasn't your bullet to take
Sometimes, things are hard
But you can't forget who you are
It is easy to hide behind a mask
When the only thing they seem to ask is
"Are you okay?"
"Why are you crying?"
"Is somebody dying?"
"What is wrong with you?"
Nothing
Everything
Sometimes, you want to scream out loud
Other times, you wish you cold hide from the crowd
You want to cry
But fear it might be too loud
One day you will have to face that fear
You have fought so desparately to push down
Don't hide who you are
Don't you understand
You will make it far
By being you
Not this person you are trying to claim
That is not the aim
That is no way to win this game
It is easy to hide behind the mask
When it seems no one cares to ask
The questions you answer every night
You built walls around yourself
To keep the bullies out
Too bad
The bullies you thought were stuck outside
Are inside with you
And will never leave you
This is a message to you
And your inner demons

"No one should have to carry that weight.
I'll take the pain and stand before the gate.
Throw me inside your hall filled with fear.
Take my faith.
I'll make it out i swear."

We gonna fight our own battles. I like the part about the bullies being inside of you. I felt that. Thanks for sharing
