Bread

Location

Bread

Today my friend told me
He likes wheat bread
and I wondered then
If he was okay in the head

He said it was natural
A normal thing to do
But then he admitted
He likes white bread too

I got up to leave
And I said not to call
He looked at the ground
and started to bawl

I can't help what I like
He cried out to me
Give me a chance to explain
And maybe then you'll see

I looked at him
And took my seat again
I took a deep breathe
And got ready to listen

White bread is good
But wheat bread is great
And I don't understand
Why we get so much hate

I'm still a person
And I still have a heart
It's not a disease
I was like this from the start

People will say
And people will yell
That God hates me
And I'm going to hell

If I took away your right
And white bread disappeared
Would you like wheat?
Or would it still be feared

If only you knew
How hard this was to say
But I know in my heart
I'll be accepted someday.
