Boxing Match

The more I fight

The more stupid I feel

For punching nothing but air

While I bleed from my gut

I try to land a punch

Hopefully land an uppercut

But the opposing boxer

Jabs me like a knife

I want to ask for help

But my jaw is too broken

Everyone else seems banged up

And The Strongest Fighter

I don't want to bother Him

For I have bothered Him too much

And He has fought so much

And has better things to do

So I lie on the ground

Bleeding out with a cut-open eyebrow

Wanting the help, but feeling

Too broken and tired to ask

But it's a losing game either way

No matter how much I resist

Once more I punch the air

And lie like a corpse on the ground
