Blue Collar Father

Location

His heavy eyes reflect the ever growing burden he carries upon his shoulders

the weight only multiplies and the job is never done

overworked and under appreciated

hours before the sun rises

minutes until it sets

he works.

Day in and day out

my father does not rest.

In a trance unworthy of being called sleep

he recoups what little strength remains within him.

A blue collar man bringing bread to the table

A resilient father keeping a family from falling into destitution.
