Blessed Fruits (Second Chances)

If joy flits away and the candle burns low,

And if children cry while dragons fly,

Turn your eyes to the stars and steady your feet below.

If tears fill your heart of glass, lo!

How your soul shall fill the sky

If joy flits away and the candle burns low.

But neither do water and salt exchange their woe;

All will be well and your soul shall sigh

As you turn your eyes to the stars and steady your feet below.

Your vision may be clouded with little to show,

And those who surround you seem to dim and die--

That is when joy flits away and the candle burns low.

Second chances are blessed fruits, so

Take your blessings and raise them up high!

Then, turn your eyes to the stars and steady your feet below.

The tears have stopped, you've dammed the flow;

No more shall your broken self cry!

For if joy flits away and the candle burns low,

Simply turn your eyes to the stars and steady your feet below.
