Beware
Green and red and blue eyes wild,
Darkness and light and spinning breezes,
The laughter of a fairy child,
And the words of the toy the child squeezes.
The fae dance and twirl among the trees,
the netherlings and beasts smile widely in the dark
They are what the child sees,
They are they center, the forest's spark
And madness and euphoria together join,
and phantoms and visions float and tantalize,
they glitter, glimmer, the sparkle of coin,
Behind the cunning of clever eyes
Wonder and merriment, they fly together,
Dancing on the razor's edge, too careful to fall through,
However the black of night, the wandering ether,
Plotted and planned, that day to rue.
And the child danced and the child walked,
Through the forest, to the edge,
Unaware of the night that stalked,
Ever closer, to the ledge.
