Analysis is inference,
and therein lies the difference,
'tween what I write
and what you read
Amidst unknowing ignorance.

To understand an author's work
You must follow the way they came.
But what you'll find,
and what I've felt
can never be the same.

The hounds of tracking may offer aid
in following where one goes
for one must track
by scent, by nose
for trails of sight
are lost in storms and snows.

Thank you!

I love the lines "To understand an author's work/You must follow the way they came" because it is so true that an author's background affects the words they write, and how we have to read between the lines to find out what a writer really feels. Great poem- definitely keep writing, and check out "poetry writing tips" in the "resources" section!
