In Between Boxes

We are all placed in two boxes at birth

Boy or girl? Is always the main question

But there are many more genders on earth

Sometimes we don’t fit into a binary pre-possession

Sometimes those boxes just don’t work for us

Gender isn’t stationary, it’s fluid

Which bathroom do you use? Doesn’t get discussed

Asking for my pronouns is alluded

My only response is:

Why do we even have these boxes?
