Beneath A Million Moons

My dear child,

Beauty hides from you.

Beneath a million moons you lie,

Your hands over your heart.

And some sordid boy,

A sweet sort of delirious,

Soars above with poems and petals.

He captures and intrigues,

But leaves in the morning,

No note to say why.

My dear girl,

Beauty hides from you.

Beneath a million moons you lie,

Your eyes filled with tears

And some debauched young man,

A sweet sort of bitter,

Flies above with chocolates and hearts.

He saves and believes,

But leaves in the afternoon,

No kiss goodbye.

My dear lady,

Beauty hides from you.

Beneath a million moons you lie,

Your heart a mess of patches.

And some beautiful man,

A sweet sort of lovely,

Lies beside you with his broken stories.

He talks and listens,

And stays till twilight.

A perfect paramour.

My dear woman,

You care not for beauty anymore.

Beneath a million moons you lay before,

Your eyes filled with tears

And your heart a mess of patches.

But now this beautiful man,

Filled with sweet stories,

Has stayed beside you despite the odds.

He calls and brings flowers,

And has stayed till the evening.

“My one and only,

I love who you are.

Beneath a million moons, I met you,

And a million more moons I will stay.”
