Behind the Curtain

Location

In front of the curtain she wears a mask,

In front of the curtain her eyes look down,

In front of the curtain her words are kept inside,

In front of the curtain her lips hardly open.

In front of the curtain she is weak,

In front of the curtain she is quiet,

In front of the curtain her song goes unheard.

In front of the curtain she is invisible.

And when her preformance is over she takes a bow then retreats behind the curtain.

Behind the curtain her mask comes off,

Behind the curtain her eyes look up, staring onward,

Behind the curtain her words come flooding out.

Behind the curtain her lips never shut,

Behind the curtain she is strong,

Behind the curtain she is loud,

Behind the curtain her song is heard.

Behind the curtain she is seen.

That is the way she lives and if anyone ever happens to see the girl behind the curtain,

She just looks at them with timid eyes and softly whispers

'Pay no attention to the girl behind the curtain.'
