When God made man
He was created similar.
Not the same,
But close enough that it was Good.

When God made woman
He unearthed the buried heartbeat,
Taking a rib from his cage
To give him someone to love

The bars were now broken,
His heart was untied,
Set free, set in motion,
Protecting, loving, hurting, caring…

God must’ve had something
So mysteriously beautiful in mind.
Why else would he hurt a creation
By ripping his shield away?

Destroying the protection around his
Vulnerable, new, rhythmic,
Perfect, pure, lonely, grasping,
Heart.
