Because I Loved You

I was seventeen and so carefree,
You were only a few years older than me.
You caught my eye then you stole my heart,
We spent the summer together almost never apart.
You taught me about life, taught my heart how to feel
It didn't take long to know my feelings were real.
As you talked about the future, I talked about school,
knew I was going away but still said "I'll wait for you".
I knew it was impossible because distance would take its toll,
You told me we could do it, you felt it in your soul.
The future for you is all planned out, you say it involves me,
But I cant offer you the things to be the girl you need.
You handle every situation without fear or doubt,
Its sad for me to think you're the one ill be without.
You we're always there when I needed, and awnsered every call,
You'll forever be the one ill remember most of all.
200 miles isn't what I want, but have to do,
Im letting you go, letting you move on
And its all because I loved you..
