BEAUTIFUL BUT YET FADED AWAY

Spoken Word Poetry

Beautiful But Yet Faded Away

Smith Edasha

Too beautiful to fade away

But I guess it did

Thought it would last a lifetime

For you were my eternity

But I guess

It wasn’t written in the stars

Coz if it was

You would never had walked away

I pictured myself in your future

But you pictured us in your past

Sleepless nights waiting for your call

Just watching the clock ticks by

Hoping maybe you would look at your phone

Hoping just maybe you would see

The text messages I sent you

Hoping you will remember

The memories we shared

And just maybe your heart will pump

Into mine once more

You see

You taught me love

You taught me to fight

You taught me to be brave

You taught me to be strong

You taught me to face my fears

But you never taught me to cope

When you were no longer here

I just wish you did

Paradise I dreamt

With you I went

But l guess I had to wake up

From my dream

Now you are no longer

That sparkle I wish to see

You are no longer that shadow

I wish to see

You destroyed the beauty

That once glowed

My regret is the fact that

You never taught me to cope

With your absence

Coz if you did

I will be okey.
