To be as shy as me

To always hide in a corner,

Like a frightened chicken,

To never be seen,

To be of soft heart.

 

To be as shy as me

To never show who you are,

So that all you hear is laughter,

To be first in nothing.

 

To be as shy as me

To never fight for yourself,

To fight for the freedom of the mind,

To be living in a shell of your own making,

That is not right.

 

To not be as shy as me

To never back down,

To always tell your feelings,

To be who you want to be!

 

To break out of your shell,

To shout to the world that you matter,

What's right to the glory of God!
