To be

To be free in me, poetry has taught me

To express the light in me, the God in me, the beauty in me

Shining brightly through me

All these, poetry has taught me

To adore me, the masterpiece God created me to be, poetry has taught me

Cotton-haired me, glittering skin me, dark and lovely Sydney

All these, poetry has taught me

To find beauty in the nature surrounding me, poetry has taught me

The cotton-white clouds emulating the cotton-like hair God gave me

The diamond-blue sky hovering over me

Making my mind open freely

Mother nature wrapping her arms around me

To hug me

To hug my skinny body with her cool breeze

The stars widening to fit my eyes

Making me lose track of time

All these, poetry has taught me

To appreciate the beauty of words, poetry has taught me

Love

Art

Beauty

All words that can mean things -differently

To appreciate abstraction, poetry has taught me

Tilted squares

Imperfect circles

Splattered paint

To appreciate life and its beauty, poetry has taught me

To be free in me, poetry has taught me

To adore me, the masterpiece God created me to be, poetry has taught me

To find beauty in the nature surrounding me, poetry has taught me

To appreciate the beauty of words, poetry has taught me

To appreciate abstraction, poetry has taught me

To appreciate life and its beauty, poetry has taught me

All these, poetry has taught me
