Bang

“BANG, that’s what the gun said to the head”

My cousin said,

A smile on his face, pointer finger against my temple

Thumb cocked back

“You coulda been dead”

“BANG, that’s what the gun said to the head”

My friend says it this time

Though this gun is real, a nine

I’m trembling, he laughing

“Ain’t no bullets.” He says

Pulling the trigger

I wince, click

“BANG, that’s what the gun said to the head”

I whisper

As if a prayer over the dead

A closed casket in front of me

“BANG, that’s what the gun said to the head”

I’m shaking, he laughing

The sound is cold blooded

His eyes is blood shot

I’m tensed up

Waiting for the gunshot

BANG
