Ask the Teacher for Help

You sit and watch and wait,

Hoping he will give the work a try.

But how could he concentrate,

While you feed him a lie.

“This school is safe” you say

While you watch him be abused.

And just because he’s gay,

You see him walk the halls bruised.

You add, “We’re doing the best we can to help”

Although you know it isn’t true.

He could let out a crying yelp,

And there is nothing you would do.

Don’t expect the kid to learn,

Don’t expect him to succeed,

If you’re just gonna watch him burn,

And ignore his constant plead.

So when he bursts out into tears,

And runs into the hall,

Just remember that whole year

 You didn’t help at all.

……………………………………………………….

You sit you watch you wait.

Hoping next time you will try.

Before it is too late,

Before you let him die.

He didn’t need a superman,

He didn’t need the holy preacher.

He needed you to take a stand,

He needed help from his teacher.
