Since the beginning of time I have watched

Watched humanity crash and burn

The Egyptians, the Sumerians, the Babylonians all built toward the sky

They strived to reach what did not want to be discovered

I have walked among the Victorians and their progress

Their romantic ideas in the gilded age of strife

The purity and innocence of long dead soldiers

That shied away from cowardice

Only to be killed in action or to lose their passion

I have drowned and have sunk with the Titanic

Dancing and laughing the whole way down

All the while knowing that it was not technology

But arrogance that caused my death

I have drunken the Kool-Aid laced with hemlock

Forgetting the authentic self and

Following Jimmy Jones to his locker

Living and dying with only one purpose

I have forgotten that I am a person

Forgotten about my decisions and all of my soul searching

Always trying to be the epitome of one idea or another

As the generations before me I am trapped in eternal return

Repeating the mistakes of my brother
