Anglo-Saxon Boast

I am Ria, the daughter of the almighty songbird of music.

From the halls of recitals and stages of India,

My mom grew up in a world of many melodious musical instruments.

Wanting the same for me,

My mom took me to many piano classes.

Practice took time, but I started off small,

Performing in front of friends, family, and relatives.

Then after some time had passed, with many months of handplay,

I finally had the courage to play in front of hundreds of people.

As the performer, I went on the stunning solid stage,

And had done countless recitals,

Showcasing my pieces to the audience.

My belief of perseverance played a big role in this growth.

Piano had not just merely delighted my senses,

But it had also improved my scholarly pursuits.

Science, a sullen subject I had once struggled with,

Had become such a smooth-sailing,

That it flowed in my mind like a whale-road.

Learning the piano had also paved the way,

For learning even more new instruments,

Like the guitar, ukulele, and xylophone.

In the future, I plan to perform a masterpiece in front of not just hundreds,

But thousands, or even millions of voice-bearers someday.

I hope that the handpraise of every performance,

Is louder than the other.
