Angel Of Steel

My angel wears no robes

She is clothed in ripped jeans
And my old band tee shirt
She has a halo of cigarette smoke
And wings of tempered steel

The scripture she quotes
Is silver tongued and barbed
She blows lipstick kisses
Across dark and smoke filled rooms
The ring in her lip framing her smile

A mouth that has never tasted salad
A body that will never be shamed
My angel is not some sweet thing
She is a bold woman
And she is all mine
