Amazing Grace

If only I had known the last time I saw you was going to be my last,

I would have hugged and held onto you so tightly,

Not even the Grim Reaper would have been able to rip you from my grip.

If only I could see you smile once more,

I would immortalize it in a photograph,

And hang it in the hallway of Eternity.

During the short time I knew you,

You put more smiles on my face

Than I have ever done for anyone in my life.

If only I could see you smile once more.

Your smiles were always contagious,

The smile that made everyone who encountered it smile.

Life gave me a garden to lie in,

Then took away all the roses,

Leaving me only thorns to rest upon.

You were a source of joy.

The room lit up whenever you walked in.

Now, I can only pray God lights up your path to His arms.

Now I know what it feels like to lose a friend.

Now I know what it means to lose a sister.

Now I know what it is to lose one’s joy.

Tribute to a Friend, a sister!

Amazing GRACE.
