All I Need

Loneliness is a punishment in itself
One I would never wish upon another soul
Stranded, deserted are all the same
For the one on the island away from it all
The stress, the duress,
The pain of it all
It's thought and it's reality all boggle the mind
Pushing it to the brink of insanity
But what keeps it in check
In line and manageable
Is that I have one thing and one thing alone
A picture of my family
To inspire and to prompt me
To get off that lonesome island
And come back home to where
I was always meant to be

This poem is about:
Me
My family
