What is one thing
That I cannot live without?
At that my brain smiled
And my heart laughed out loud

There is no one thing
That has control of my life
I am many parts of one whole
I cannot be split by a knife

Jesus, my dogs,
Even my cats too
Are three simple things
That carry me through

Then there's my family
My teachers and friends
All I hold most dearly
Nothing could contend

Then there's body
My heart, mind, and soul
Without these I'm nothing
I would have no parts to this whole

Choosing one thing
Is impossible to do
I have so much in my life
To be thankful for when the day is through

All I need in life
Is all of the above
So, I guess if I condense it to one thing
That thing would be love
