Age Is Just a Number
Location
Age is just a number, baby
The years you’ve been alive,
the times you’ve had,
your experiences,
don’t mean that you know anything.
Why is it assumed that age can determine who you are?
Little kids can be more responsible
than the adults who hold them back.
Teenagers aren’t going to behave
just because they’re almost on their own.
People only grow when they have no other choice.
Who would choose
to take on all the pains of life
if they can just be a kid forever?
Who would grow up
if they really had a choice?
It’s much more fun to laze about,
to spend time having fun,
to act like you’re 10 years old
and not care about the future.
But the fact of the matter is when you turn 18
the expectations start to unfurl.
Have a job, drive a car, work on school….
No social life left, just work work work….
But once you get to a certain age,
you’re allowed to stop caring again?
How does that work?
Why is all the work expected of the ages 18 to 30?
Why is it always us?
Always me…?
